
WHAT IS THE CLASSIC ALUMINUM RAILING SYSTEM MADE OF?
The material is T-5 & T-6000 series aircraft grade aluminum. There is “NO” recycled aluminum used in the manufacturing process to insure the structural integrity and high quality of the Classic Aluminum Railing system.
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM SPAN BETWEEN POSTS?
Our engineering testing supports maximum spans of 8’ with pickets and 6’ with glass. Runs beyond this will need an in line post to comply with building code requirements.
WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS OF THE POSTS?
- 2 3/4″ square with a 5″ base plate
HOW TALL ARE THE RAILING AND POSTS?
The railing is designed to be 42″ high off of the deck surface. The post is slightly taller than this (42.75″) to support the railing.
WHAT STYLES OF RAILING ARE AVAILABLE?
The standard 42” railing is available in tempered glass and two styles of picket; straight and wide pickets.
There are also other options available to customize your railing such as:
- Decorative pickets
- Decorative inserts
- Decorative post caps
- LED lighting system
HOW TALL IS THE GLASS FOR REGAL RAILING AND WHAT SIZES ARE AVAILABLE?
The tempered glass is designed to be fit between the top and bottom rail. The actual size of the glass is 35 7/8″ high by 1/4″ (6mm) thick. Glass widths are inventoried from 6″ to 66″ in 3″ increments.
Our tempered glass panels are impact resistant and comply with Miami-Dade Florida Hurricane requirements.
ARE TEMPERED GLASS PANELS AVAILABLE FOR STAIR SECTIONS?
Yes, there are 6” wide angled glass panels for stair railing that will work on most standard stairs with 7″ rise and 11″ run or angles between 33-37 degrees.
WHAT IS THE WIND RATING?
The glass has been wind load tested to 150 mph. This testing is available for your building department on request.
HOW TALL ARE THE PICKETS?
The pickets for the 42″ rail are designed to be fit between the top and bottom rail. The actual picket height is approximately 36 5/8″. The stair pickets are approximately 29 3/4″ to accommodate the shorter requirements for stair applications.
WHAT COLORS ARE AVAILABLE?
Classic Aluminum Railing is available in 4 colors – White, Black, Textured Yard Bronze and Textured Taupe
IS THERE AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR COLORS?
There is no additional charge for our four standard colors (white, black, taupe and yard bronze)
ARE FASTENERS INCLUDED WITH EACH COMPONENT?
Fasteners are sold as a separate part by the box.
HOW WIDE IS THE GATE AND WHAT COMES WITH IT?
The complete gate is designed to fill up to a 48″ opening. The gate itself is 46 1/2″. It comes with hinges and a latch which each take up 3/4”. Screws are ordered by the box and sold separately.
WHAT IS THE WARRANTY POLICY?
The railing is covered for twenty years against any structural defects and ten years on paint finish for the original purchaser. Making a warranty claim will require proof of purchase and evidence of a claim. Approved claims will have defective product replaced with new.

HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY NEW REGAL RAILING?
Aluminum railings need minimal care and maintenance. We recommend your railing be inspected and cleaned at least twice a year with a mild, non-abrasive soap and water, using a soft sponge.

DOES THE CLASSIC ALUMINUM RAILING SYSTEM HAVE ANY PATENTED FEATURES?
”YES” the picket/rail locking system is patented. This design is a major element of our railing system usage on multi-story buildings.
IS CLASSIC ALUMINUM RAILING SYSTEM BUILDING CODE COMPLIANT?
”YES” Regal is tested for compliance with the applicable requirements for section 1607.8.1 ”handrails and guards” for use on residential buildings meeting NBC (National Building Code) and lBC (International Building Code) specifications and can be used in R-1 through R-4 code buildings up to twelve stories for both pickets and glass.

HOW DO THE RAILS ATTACH TO THE POST?
The Classic Aluminum posts all have the rail brackets pre-welded onto the post providing easier and faster installation.
WHAT ARE THE CONFIGURATIONS OF THE CLASSIC ALUMINUM POST?
Classic Aluminum posts are available in end, line, corner, blank and angled inline stair post for ”over the top” installation of stair railing.
HOW IS THE RAILING SECTIONS SECURED TO THE POST?
The top and bottom rails are secured to the post with four 3/4” self-drilling ceramic coated screws (part number: CS-50). The screws are only installed on one side of the top and bottom rail leaving one side of the deck railing system clean looking and fastener “free”.
ARE THE FASTENERS PACKAGED WITH THE POST FOR SURFACE MOUNTING OR THE RAILING FOR ATTACHING TO THE POST?
”NO” the fasteners are sold separately. The 34″ self-drilling screws (CS-5O) come 50 to a pack and the 2.5” lags (CL-24) come 24 to a pack and are available in all railing colors.
HOW MANY OF THE 78” LED STRIPS WILL ONE LOW VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY OPERATE?
One power supply will operate up to 10 LED strips.
WHO MANUFACTURES THE CLASSIC ALUMINUM RAILING SYSTEM?
The Classic Aluminum Railing system is manufactured by Regal ideas Inc, exclusively for Lowes Home Improvement. All components are manufactured in our own vertically integrated 500,000 square foot manufacturing facility. None of the Classic Aluminum Railing components are manufactured by outside manufacturers, subcontractors or third party agents.
